Gutierrez + Crockett Architects was established over 25 years ago by Rosendo Carlos Gutierrez and Robert York Crockett. The firm specializes in master planning, architecture, developing and interior design for boutique resorts, large hospitality projects, and private estates.
With projects throughout the United States, Mexico, and West Africa, Gutierrez/Crockett Architect’s work is culturally diverse and inventive. Rather than narrowing on a particular building typology, the studio works on a broad array of project types including hotels, restaurants, commercial centers, churches, casinos, retail, private residences, and corporate offices.
Gutierrez/Crockett Architects are winners of numerous awards and international competitions including the Meeker Fellowship, National AIA Design Award, CRSI Design Award, the Guild Fellowship, and an award from the Royal Institute of British Architects. Their work has been the subject of exhibitions in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.
The architects have completed a prestigious private residence for a well-known international art collector in Los Angeles, which was featured on Interiors Oct/Nov cover. The sophisticated museum design incorporates the collector’s residence while displaying a one hundred million dollar art collection.
One of SORO International's guiding principles is the firm embrace of steward based, low density development that is sensitive to each unique location. SORO's vision focuses on exceptional natural sites that benefit from sustainable development and protection.
Integrating insightful design principles with inspired architecture, SORO seeks to accomplish an enlightened development model.
Currently, the architects are working on a comprehension master plan for two expansive destination communities incorporating hotels, residences, health center, spa, village, international leadership school and nature centers located in Mexico’s colonial highlands and its Pacific coast.
Current projects of Gutierrez + Crockett Architects are a master plan for a luxury hotel located on a two million sq. meter (250 acre) beachfront property on the Arabian Sea in Oman. The firm has been selected to submit a proposal for a 20 square mile sustainable city in China for the China City Development Group.
